Deep Satisfaction & Desire
(This is Tanuki. We’ve known each other nearly 17 years and we share the same birthday!)
Today was perfect. I guess every day is perfect, but this one was so easy to see and feel in every part of me. Let me paint you a scene:
I awoke rested. My cat snuggled under my covers - his favorite and most gentle way to wake me to feed him. My elderly cat stood waiting for her daily brushies.
I bought bought gifts for 2 people I love. They were well-received. I told them how much I love them and what I enjoy about them. That was also well-received. I noticed them bask in the light of my heart as it poured out in words over their ears. They were warm, vibrant, and relaxed like a cat resting on a sunny spot on the floor.
The black walnut incense danced on the wind as doors and windows opened to the sun - corners kissed and blessed by scented air. By my own body, the floors were cleaned and cleansed, spaces reimagined and reorganized, while clothes and drapes laundered in the perfectly temperate basement.
The comfy chair was occupied by a loved one as they created a steady, calm vortex of creation like a magician at an altar. We paused to share our accomplishments and direction - our decisions and how we felt. We laughed intimate smiles into each others’ eyes.
We walked to the store to bring some last minute dinner plans home to nurture us after all that effort had evaporated on our skin. The sun was perfectly pleasant. The greens were greeeeeeen and the blues were soft. We ran into a neighbor on the way and stop for a hug and a “Hello!” And dinner was simple, wholesome, and fully delicious.
The day ended with some creativity (as I write this now) and a chance to be close to each other in a space we feel safe in. As I go to sleep, I know a deep satisfaction. I am home. I am me. I am love and loved.
Days like today are why I make money. (And I can’t do that without you, so thank you.)
My home, the food, the spaciousness of time, the cats, the gifts, the incense, the comfort - all of that costs money. The only things that didn’t cost money were love and sunshine.
I do the work that I do so everyone has a chance to experience their own version of a perfect day.
